(Microsoft Publisher, MS Publisher), einfaches rahmenorientiertes Layoutprogramm von Microsoft. Seine Stärken liegen im unproblematischen Austausch von Daten mit allen anderen Office-Programmen, insbesondere mit Word. So lässt sich z. B. ein Text, der bereits in einem Publisher-Rahmen enthalten ist, in Word bearbeiten (komplexe Suchen/Ersetzenläufe, automatische Umformatierungen usw.), und die Änderungen können auf Knopfdruck in Publisher übernommen werden. Im Vergleich zu Word bietet Publisher komfortablere Layoutfunktionen, beispielsweise das vollkommen freie Platzieren von Grafiken auf einer Seite.
 
Publisher 1.0 erschien 1993, die aktuelle Version heißt Publisher 2002. An der Grundfunktionalität hat sich nicht viel geändert, im Lauf der Jahre sind v. a. mehr Layoutvorlagen und bessere Assistenzfunktionen hinzugekommen. Heute versteht sich Publisher in erster Linie als unternehmensorientiertes Desktop-Publishing-Programm, mit dem der Benutzer mühelos professionelle Marketingdokumente erstellen kann.
